About

If you work in a church or non-profit organization, whether as an employee or a volunteer, you understand its unique challenges.

I am certified in church administration and have been working in church and non-profit finance since 1995. The economic climate has changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained the same: the need to maximize financial and human resources using good principles of stewardship and business sense.

I welcome the opportunity to discuss your church’s or organization’s needs. I am a strategic thinker, a short- and long-term planner, and I am experienced in creating and managing operating budgets, endowment funds, and giving campaigns.

I live and work in Richmond, Virginia, but I am available to work with you regardless of your location. My resume gives a basic overview of who I am and what I do; my references say a whole lot more about how I can help you.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Financial Leadership for Churches and Non-profits, LLC

What Others Say About Me

[endorsement cite=”Dr. Sammy Williams” byline=”Senior Pastor”]Northminster is a 121-year-old congregation. We asked Steve to review every aspect of our financial operations. He reviewed all of our contracts and recommended several new vendors. He upgraded our financial software, moving us to an online system. He streamlined our bookkeeping. In the first year Steve was with us, he saved Northminster more than we paid him. Your mileage may vary. But what you will find is that Steve is a competent, caring, knowledgeable financial services provider who is a joy to work with.[/endorsement]

[endorsement cite=”Dr. Travis Collins” byline=”Senior Pastor”]Steve is a financial whiz. His passions and skills range from stewardship education to accounting to budget forecasting and beyond. He has provided great financial leadership for us at Bon Air Baptist.[/endorsement]

[endorsement cite=”Joel H. Williams, AIA” byline=”President, Williams Partnership: Architecture, Inc.”]While I’m not directly involved in finance/church administration via any committee, etc., I had the opportunity to see Steve’s attention to detail, stewardship, and creativity first hand while, as members of the congregation at Dawson, my wife & I had the chance to be involved in the design and construction of a detached two car garage for a house the church owned – through Steve’s dilligence with the church accounts, he recognized the impact such a garage could have on the long term finances of the church, using volunteer labor & improvements to church property to both build equity in the property and reduce church operating overhead by eleminating long term storage rental fees since the property imrovement could be used to store the church’s modular stage system. Steve then managed the project from presentation of the project to the committees for approval, building the project team, and coordinating construction of the project. Steve led the project with the heart of a true servant leader and I would enjoy any opportunity to work with Steve again.[/endorsement]
